Meet the Artist
Seraphina Caligiure is a native to the Seacoast area of New Hampshire and has grown up with a passion for makeup. From a young age she fell in love with theatre, where she got her first 'taste' of dressing up and seeing what kind of magic makeup could work. After receiving a Bachelors of the Arts in Theatre from the University of New Hampshire in 2009, she decided to refine her makeup skills and attended the Esthetics Program at Empire Beauty School in Porstmouth, NH. Seraphina has worked as a NH State Licensed Esthetician at Statix Salon and Spa in Dover,NH and Vanity Hair Studio in Portsmouth, NH and now, as a IATSE Local 798 Union member, works as a Makeup Artist in the Seacoast, Boston and New York areas for film, brides, and the stage. Seraphina also has her certification in Airbrush and Spray Tan mediums.
That's not to say she doesn't have a flair for the dramatic. She loves being able to create looks for different occasions including nights out, boudoir sessions, themed events as well as designing makeup for the stage!
When Seraphina isn't on set, you can find her creating art with her makeup brushes at her studio in Rollinsford, NH, or running her youth theatre production company, Upside Arts in Portsmouth, NH where she also resides. She loves performing on stage, baking and decorating wedding cakes, drinking strong coffee, and indulging in delicious wine. She especially enjoys spending time with her husband, Mike, and her two kitties, Henry and Mason.
With over ten years' experience in the business, Seraphina frequently works with film production companies and theatres, designing looks for the screen and stage. Some of her most exciting clients include Disney, ESPN, presidential candidates, and various recording artists. She also works as the resident makeup artist for Connection in Merrimack, NH.
When it comes to brides, she believes that makeup should be about bringing out the beauty of the person... not the makeup. She uses airbrushing techniques to apply weightless foundation and contouring, and customizes the look to suit each individual bride.
